Wicked UK Tour

Wicked will begin their tour in the United Kingdom in January 2018. The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz comes to the stage with the story of the witches filling the night’s events. An unlikely friendship is told that brings the drama center stage.

Two young women become friends as sorcery students, with Glinda befriending the misunderstood Elphaba during their time at Shiz University.

The encounter during The Wonderful Wizard of Oz leads to the two friends reaching a crossroads. The lives of these once-close friends start to go on very different paths. Elphaba is determined to stay true to herself, with her future being secured by her decision.

Considered a true classic, Wicked is the 16th-longest running show in theatre history in London.

Suitable for a general audience, the show is called a “magical musical treat.”

The creative team does an amazing job of throwing the audience right into the middle of the play. Stephen Schwartz is the genius behind the performance’s music and lyrics. Joe Mantello’s directing skills and Wayne Cilento’s musical staging creates a stage dynamic that has won dozens of awards.

The cast consists of 36 exotic characters that are surrounded by colorful scenery and a setting that is nothing short of magical – a fitting surrounding for the witches.

Wicked’s London production features a new cast that will hit the stage as of July 25, 2017. The new cast will star Alice Fearn as the misunderstood Elphaba and Sophia Evans as Glinda. Fiyero is played by Bradley Jaden.

Fearn joined Wicked in 2016 when she played a lesser role in the production. Determined to continue her journey to becoming a star, she was quickly recognized as a top talent by the show’s producer and has moved into the role of Elphaba. She embraces the role and brings the experience of playing ‘Rapunzel.’ She has also had roles in Shrek the Musical.

Evans played the role of ‘Dorothy Gale’ in The Wizard of Oz in London and was on the BBC talent show “Over the Rainbow.”

Jaden was just announced as the star who will play ‘Fiyero.’ He has starred in Les Misérables as ‘Enjolras.’ Melanie La Barrie plays the role of Madame Morrible and is best known for her recent role as ‘Mrs. Phelps’ in Matilda. She also had roles in Les Misérables and Mary Poppins.

Wicked still maintains an open-ended London run that will return at the end of January.
