Legally Blonde the Musical
Based on Amanda Brown’s 2001 novel, Legally Blonde the Musical follows Elle Woods, sorority president, as she embarks on a mission to find love at Harvard’s Law School. Woods soon discovers that she can use the law for the greater good, and uses her skills to defy all odds.
The show features music and lyrics by Nell Benjamin and Laurence O’Keefe.
The Legally Blonde musical launched its first UK tour in 2011 at The Liverpool Empire Theatre. At the time, Faye Brooks was cast as Elle. That tour concluded in 2012, but a new UK tour has been announced.
Lucie Jones and Bill Ward star in this romantic comedy, brought to life on stage in music and dancing.
Lucie is currently starring in Rent’s UK tour. She has also appeared in Ghost, We Will Rock You, Les Miserables and American Psycho. She has played in iTV’s Midsomer Murders as Melody Carver and BBC’s The Sarah Jane Adventures as Louise. She previously was a finalist on The X Factor in 2009.
Rita Simons, known for her roles as Roxy Mitchell on Eastenders, will play Paulette Bonafonte. Bill Ward will take on the role of Professor Callahan.
Anthony Williams directs and choreographs the show, with Dean Street as co-choreographer. James McCullough serves as Musical Director and Musical Supervisor.
Two chihuahuas are also part of the cast: Rufus and Bruiser.

The musical has earned 5 Laurence Olivier Awards nominations and won three, including Best New Musical. The production was also nominated for 8 Whatsonstage awards, and won four of those.
Legally Blonde the Musical is produced by UK Productions Ltd, which has been producing musicals for more than two decades in the West End and across the world.
The tour will open up at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on September 18 before touring the rest of the UK and Ireland. The tour will wrap up in June 2018. Stops include Stoke Regent Theatre, Cardiff New Theatre Edinburgh Festival, Leeds Grand Theatre, Salford Lowry, Brighton Theatre Royal, Sunderland Empire, Wimbledon New Theatre, and more.
